Losing My Shit :
NFT

A 3D animated video concept, minted as an NFT, created in collaboration with artist Keli Lucas. The artwork features a photorealistic 3D model of the artist in a surreal dreamscape, floating in a spacesuit alongside a graffiti-covered MTA subway car in orbit above the Earth.

The Challenge

The main technical challenge was creating a convincing digital double of Keli. This involved using photogrammetry to capture an accurate 3D scan of her face and seamlessly integrating it into the final character model. The goal was to build a visual narrative that could represent an artist’s dream state and the anxieties that manifested in it. This meant designing and building the entire surreal outer space scene, from the MTA train to the symbolic floating tools, to tell a story without words. The sound design was also critical, requiring a delicate balance between a deep Tibetan bell chime, an ambient spacey drone tone, and the lost echo of a real subway announcement to create a soundscape that was both serene and unsettling.

The Outcome

The final piece is a captivating, seamless video loop that successfully visualizes the surreal intersection of reality and an artist's dream. The scene, where her spray paint cans float just out of reach in the vastness of space, serves as a powerful metaphor for the anxieties and aspirations inherent in the artistic process. The unique sound design deepens the dreamlike atmosphere, blending the calm of space with the intrusive familiar sound of the New York City subway. As an NFT, "Losing My Shit" brings Keli's art into a new technological medium, offering a conceptually rich digital artwork that explores the inner world of a creator.
